From the mouths of babes

On Monday we started at the beginning...creation. As we are discussing the fall, my ever so expressive 4 yr old asks, "Mommy, why did God put that tree there when He knew they would eat from it? And why did He put it there when He didn't want them to eat it?" First of all, I was amazed she was listening...she has a tendency to daydream. So I held her close and told her that God wants us to CHOOSE HIM. Sometimes things are put in our life and we have choices to make...the way of the LORD or the way of the world. He didn't want us to know good or evil...He wants to just KNOW HIM. She seemed pretty satisfied with that answer and gave me a big hug. It is amazing what comes out of their mouths that challenges us in our faith.
